Essential One-Way Defense Smokes Guide for Omen: Split
Valorant’s Omen, is categorized to be a controller Agent. Due to his Dark Cover (smokes), Omen can control enemy pushes and make their lives harder by taking a big risk to push through a Dark Cover smoke. However, Omen is also an excellent offensive agent and is used as a Duelist by many. His flash (Paranoia), paired with his teleport (Shrouded Step) make Omen an unpredictable machine on both sides of the battlefield. Given he is in the right hands.
His Dark Cover smokes have one additional use, however. Both Omen and Brimstone are the primary smoke agents in Valorant. What gives Omen a slight advantage when throwing his smokes, is his ability to throw one-way smokes with ease. This one-way smokes guide for Omen shows the most essential Dark Covers on defensive side on Split. Of course, there are more one-ways of this sort that can be thrown. The ones below are what we consider to be the basic one to have in your arsenal when wielding the shady Omen.
This smoke for A-Main allows for an excellent one-way that lets the defenders on A watch from Screens, as well as Heaven. Unsuspecting attackers will be unable to see both defensive positions, unless they swing wide. By then, defenders watching from Screens and Heaven should be able to get at least one to two easy frags.
This one-way is easiest to execute from Screens. Aim at the left wall and before you throw the smoke, make sure that it is just slightly touching the ground. This will ensure maximum visibility of enemies’ feet, before they see you defending from Screens.
This rather difficult smoke for B-Main is extremely powerful. Unsuspecting attackers executing a push will be vulnerable, given that they don’t throw insane amounts of utility ahead of time. When playing around this one-way, defenders should be positioned on stairs under Heaven and Heaven itself. However, top of B-Wall and the double boxes close to B-Main, are still good options to change things up. Word of warning, however. This Dark Cover does not provide a one-way when holding from the default stairs position.
We found it easiest to cast this smoke from Rafters. Line up with the vertical wooden block, aim at the bottom and push it as far as you can before the green arrow drops to the ground. This will ensure that enemies are blind when walking through the smoke.
This one is a very standard one-way for Omen. Due to his Dark Cover smoking capabilities, Omen is an excellent agent to control Mid on any map. This one-way gives the possibility of sneakily holding Market from Vents. This is a common spot, though, so expect higher rank enemies to not fall for this one, or at least try to prefire you blindly.
We like using the clear vision method for casting this smoke. Aim to the right of the very edge just over the place where market is visible. We’ve pinged the location where it should go exactly, with a red arrow. This one-way can easily go wrong, so make sure you practice it for yourself in a custom match.
On the opposite side of Market, Split on Mid has also Sewers. Oftentimes, attackers will try to take Mid Split by executing a take on both sides of Mid. This one-way provides a great surprise factor for those peeking mid from Sewers.
This can be also cast using the clear vision variant of Dark Cover. Aim more or less in the middle of the two top boxes covering Sewers. The smoke should be barely touching the ground. Enemies’ feet will be visible when looking at the angle from Mail, Vents, and right side of top Mid.
When holding B Heaven as Omen, this one-way is fantastic when your team has lost control of Mid and you suspect that the attackers are going to push up. The players from Mid will have to swing to the very right towards Vents to see you, making this a very good surprise smoke.
This one requires some lining-up to do, but it’s fairly consistent in execution. Stand so that the two parts of the vent line up. Aim in the middle until the arrow turns red, and then aim half-way down the wall and cast. Clear vision is a must for this one-way Dark Cover as you’ll be throwing this smoke from close range.
