Valorant Guide: 3 Sova Recon Bolt Lineups to use on Attack for Split
This guide demonstrates 3 Recon Bolt lineups on the map Split, that will help you use this powerful ability to its full potential on attack.
Sova’s Recon Bolt ability can be used in many effective ways, and out of Sova’s kit, has the most potential to impact the game. Well placed Recon Bolts can allow your team to make aggressive plays, as well as having the ability to gain valuable information to assist with rotates. It is also a very useful tool for retaking bombsites.
The first lineup in this guide will place a Recon Bolt above the A-site, revealing both Heaven and most of the site. The second lineup will help you take control of Middle by placing a Recon Bolt in Mail Room. The third lineup will reveal enemy players at the back of the B-site, as well as any players on the Rafters.
Sova’s Recon Bolt Ability:
In order to perform this lineup, you will need to position yourself up against the bench as shown below. From here you will need to place your crosshair just above and to the left of the green tree, highlighted by the blue circle. You then fully charge the shot with bounces set to one.
The Recon Bolt lands high up, behind the crown-shaped sign. Enemy players on site will not be able to see the Recon Bolt when it lands, however, this Recon Bolt will reveal their positions. It will catch most enemy players on the A-site, as well as players on Heaven.
With your back in the corner of the wooden structure at the bottom of Middle, you will need to place your crosshair as shown below. From there you will need to fully charge the shot and have the bounces set to two.
This Recon Bolt will reveal any enemy players trying to make aggressive plays from the Mail Room. While it may be easy for the enemy team to destroy, it will allow you to take control of the Middle area. Even being able to hear where the enemy player shoots the Recon Bolt from, is valuable information when taking map control.
From outside of the B-lobby area you will need to face the barrels as shown below. You can then position the tip of your arrow between the two lighter areas of the building to get the perfect lineup. From this position you will need to charge the shot into the third bar, with bounces set to zero.
This lineup can be used as part of a full execute onto the B-site. As your team is breaching the site, this Recon Bolt will reveal most positions that enemy players will be playing from. This will give your team a great advantage as they enter the site.
For anyone playing Sova as one of their main agents, it’s always good to know as many Recon Bolt lineups as possible, both for attack and defense. Before you utilize those in a ranked game, it’s definitely worth practicing them once or twice in a private match. This will also help you to remember them when going into a rated matchup.
