Valorant Guide: 3 Defensive Sova Recon Bolt Lineups for Split
This guide will demonstrate three Sova Recon Bolt lineups on Valorant’s map, Split. These will help you use the powerful ability to its full potential on defense.
Sova’s Recon Bolt ability can be used in many effective ways and out of Sova’s kit, has the most potential to impact the game. Well placed Recon Bolts can allow your team to make aggressive plays, as well as having the ability to gain valuable information to assist with rotates. It is also a very useful tool for retaking bombsites.
The first lineup in this guide will provide your team with information at the B-lobby and B-main areas. The second lineup will assist your team when retaking the B-bombsite, providing information on key areas on the site. The third lineup will reveal enemy players positioned around the A-long area.
Sova’s Recon Bolt Ability:
In order to do this lineup you will need to position yourself up op on the rafters on the B-site. From there you must charge the shot to the second bar and have it set to zero bounces.
This is a great lineup to use both, at the start of the round, or to gain information in the mid-round stage. The Recon Bolt will reveal all enemy players positioned near the B-lobby or the entrance of B-main. Combining this Recon Bolt with a teammate pushing B-main at the start of the round, can be an effective strategy to give your team an advantage. You have the chance to catch an enemy player off guard, as they destroy the Recon Bolt, or to gain information that there are no enemy players on that side of the map.
In order to perform this lineup, you will need to position yourself in line with the edge of the window, as you move from Defense spawn to the B-site. From there you will need to charge the shot into the third bar and have it set to zero bounces.
If you play towards the A-site or Middle, this is a great lineup to have up your sleeve. You will be able to use this Recon Bolt to help your team retake the B-site. Once your teammates are in position, this Recon Bolt will reveal enemy players holding B site. This will give your team a better chance at retaking the site.
This lineup requires you to jump up onto the box at the top of the A-ramp. From there you just need to tap fire and release, while having the shot set to zero bounces.
This provides your team with information on all enemies at the back of A-long. You could use this lineup to set up an aggressive push, or just to gain information in the mid-round.
For anyone playing Sova as one of their main agents, it’s always good to know as many Recon Bolt lineups as you can. Before you utilize those in a ranked game, it’s definitely worth practicing them once or twice in a private match. This will also help you to remember them when going into a rated matchup.
